Welcome to the official website of the 1st Brigade Family Readiness Group.
Please note that this site recieved major updates over the last two weeks.

If you're wondering what an FRG is and what it does, you're not alone. Many family members are unsure about the FRG's role and how they can get involved.

FRG stands for "Family Readiness Group," and its primary purpose is to ensure the readiness of family members.

pict1Regardless of the unit the FRG supports, all FRGs share a common goal: to keep family members informed and supported throughout their service member's career, especially during deployments.

The 1st Brigade functions as a cohesive family, with the FRG serving both soldiers and their family members. By supporting the Command Group (Commander and SEA), the FRG helps maintain soldiers' mission focus during deployments and training. This support extends to family communication, guidance, and morale-boosting events, such as unit gatherings. The Command Group views the FRG as a vital partner and engages with it regularly to keep family members informed and supported.

The FRG employs a "family-involved" approach to assist in retaining soldiers in the TXSG.

The FRG comprises dedicated family members, all of whom volunteer their time. We are actively seeking more family members who are willing and able to volunteer in various roles within the FRG. Service in the Texas State Guard is a calling, and when the whole family is invested, it ensures a happy and committed unit. We invite you to explore the Family Orientation page to gain insights into the military lifestyle. To learn more about the FRG in general, visit the Our Team pages.

Welcome to the TXSG and the 1st Brigade FAMILY!
