The 1st Brigade Family Readiness Group comprises dedicated volunteers who are family members of the soldiers serving in the 1st Brigade of the Texas State Guard. These volunteers assume various roles within the FRG and are an integral part of its leadership team. This page is designed to acquaint you with the structure of the FRG and its collaborative efforts with the command to provide support for the soldiers and families of the 1st Brigade.
FRG Structure
The FRG follows a structure that resembles the chain of command within the Texas State Guard (TXSG), albeit with different terminology. Please refer to the chart below to gain insight into the FRG's organizational framework. It's crucial to understand that while the FRG collaborates with TXSG units, it is distinct from both the TXSG and the individual units.
How the FRG, Chain of Command and NCO Support Chain work together
The FRG collaborates with both the Chain of Command and the NCO Support Chain to provide assistance to unit members and their families. The unit commander has the option to designate a Military Point of Contact (MPOC) who serves as a liaison between the FRG leadership and the command team. Alternatively, the commander may opt to work directly with the FRG leadership without appointing an MPOC.
In the 1st Brigade, every unit has the opportunity to designate an FRG representative and establish a local FRG presence. The FRG Leader is actively recruiting individuals to fulfill the following roles:
- Battalion FRG Support Administrator
- Company FRG Coordinator
